Gary L. Hillen

Mr. Hillen graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering, specializing in geotechnical engineering, from Rutgers University in 1986. He has more than 22 years of experience in the construction industry. He has worked as a Project Manager for Melick-Tully and Associates, P.C. where he provided geotechnical consultation for private developers and municipalities along with supervising geotechnical engineers and geologists during subsurface investigations and on-site soils engineering services.
Mr. Hillen has also worked at Centex Homes as a Land Development Project Manager and most recently as their Entitlements Manager. He managed the approval process for major subdivisions and/or site plans, created and managed pre-acquisition budgets, interviewed, negotiated and contracted professionals including engineers, architects, consultants, and attorneys. He entitled 1736 units consisting of single family homes, town homes, and condominium units. Included in those entitlements is the 69 unit multi-family community known as Argonne Woods which is currently under construction and being developed by MNB Realty.
Mr. Hillen has been able to utilize his problem solving, planning, and organizational skills to process land into profitable developments. He fosters collaboration and synergy between team members to expeditiously evaluate prospective land purchases and design attractive communities. He builds strong relationships with municipal, county and state officials to facilitate the approval process. Mr. Hillen realizes cost savings through application of value engineering and land development skills. He effectively controls pre-acquisition and land development budgets. He has also given seminars on redevelopment of Brownfield’s.
